Since releasing the teaser single, “Tell Me,” in late 2017, Brooklyn-born, Miami-based singer/songwriter Barachi has made quite the impression on the music industry and fans around the world. The song, which has garnered over a million plays on Soundcloud, Spotify and YouTube respectively, has also allowed the newcomer to perform across the country alongside such established artists as Ella Mai, Trina and Diddy and to draw the attention of fans from Barcelona, Spain to Las Vegas.
Now, as he readies his debut project, “Therapy,” due out in 2019 via indie imprint Southern Music and Entertainment, the crooner taps Interscope rapper/singer Tory Lanez for the new single, “Wifey,” produced by Grammy-nominated beatsmith Foreign Teck, who has also worked with Post Malone, Meek Mill and Bryson Tiller. Released in late September, the song has already passed the 150k streams mark on both Soundcloud and Spotify.
Intuitively melding the interstellar sonics of today’s cutting edged R&B with the straight-to-the-heart simplicity of vintage love songs from the golden radio era, singer, songwriter, producer Barachi (which means Lightning of God) has hit upon a smooth modern sound to seduce lovers the world over.
His debut project, Therapy – a 9-song EP and visual album – takes its name from how Barachi vows to make his fans feel whenever they hear his music.
“My music can be a vehicle for people to feel better, be positive, love each other and live well,” he explains. “My music has no color line. Any age, nationality, or group of people are free to fall in love with this special blend of old school flavor and new school vibes.”
A self-taught musician, Barachi co-wrote and co-produced every song onTherapy with newcomer Exly and producer High Volume, whose past credits include Gucci Mane, Jason Derulo and Busta Rhymes. At the core of Barachi’s Therapy are intoxicating love songs like the heartfelt, “U Got Me,” the dreamy, piano-punctuated, “Tell Me,” the sunny sing-along, “Yours,” and the deep space sonata, “Me & U,” the latter of which has also garnered quite a bit of attention on YouTube. The project boasts appearances by Miami heavyweights Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, and 2017 breakout new star Zoey Dollaz.
