The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to bring tragedy as the music world is once again mourning for someone else who has fallen victim to the coronavirus.
Carl “Chucky” Thompson, who was once a part of the famed in-house producer coalition under the Bad Boy moniker, “Hitmen” has passed away after doing battle with the dreaded COVID-19. He was responsible for many recognizable hits through the prolific Bad Boy chart-topping era.
Artists such as Nas, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Faith Evans, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men are a few of many artists that have made great music with Thompson.
He had recently posted on his Instagram account an upcoming release date while tagging Sean “Diddy” Combs:
“Vol 1. Welcome to the LOVE era… @diddy ❤️”
Thompson publicist, Tamar Juda announced the sad news on Twitter:
It is with a very heavy heart that I can confirm the passing of Chucky Thompson.
To anyone in his orbit, you know how generous he was with his energy, creativity and love.
Both the music industry, and the world has lost a titan. pic.twitter.com/jTUl9BNfK4

The many prayers and thanks that the prolific music producer received was well-documented on social media.
I just got word that DC’s legendary music producer, Chucky Thompson has died from COVID complications. He produced everyone from Mary J. Blige, Biggie & Chuck Brown, to Kanye West, Raheem DeVaughn, Craig Mack and Puffy. He was a bad man & a good bro.
My deepest condolences
