Meek Mill Compares the Merits of Popular Netflix Series ‘Squid Game’ to ‘Hood’ Poverty: ‘It’s The Exact Same Thing’

The latest Netflix series that a lot of people are speaking about is called Squid Game. According to Complex, the series has reportedly become the first Korean series to rank No. 1 on Netflix’s U.S. most-watched list. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is the latest celebrity to comment on the popularity of the streaming series. Meek took to Twitter to compare the basis of the series to “hood poverty.”

Squid Game pits 456 competitors against each other to compete in a deadly game of survival with the chance to win 45.6 billion Korean won, which amounts to around $38.6 million US dollars. In an effort to correspond to the merits of the deadly game, Meek Mill posted on his Twitter account that, based on the mindset of people who live in the “hood”, all that needs to be done to get them out of that mindset is to “help them with work/money.”

Black Twitter definitely chimed in to let Meek Mill know that it’s not quite that simple:
