Gina Torres has joined the Uniworld Group as the Digital PR Director. Gina has over a decade of experience in Public Relations both in-house and on the agency side for global brands including The US Tennis Association, Moët Hennessy, SONY Red and Heineken. Her areas of specialty include digital PR, public relations campaigns, lifestyle media outreach, social media engagement and event planning.

Gina began her career at Madison Square Garden honing her skills in the Public Relations and Communications department for the NY Knicks and the NY Liberty. There she created strategic PR campaigns that focused on entertainment and sports media coverage. From there she moved into an Account Supervisor role with top PR firm Grayling USA, where she created strategic partnerships for the Heineken brand with Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Def Jam Records, Gen Art and The Grammy’s.

Gina honed her global PR experience while working with the US Tennis Association. She traveled the world with the US Fed Cup and Davis Cup teams and executed post game press conferences and interviews with top US players including Serena Williams, Andy Roddick and Venus Williams. Gina arranged media trips and Satellite Media Tours for press in Austria, Moscow and Iceland. Gina was also the lead on the USTA’s multicultural community and media outreach initiatives and created several PR strategies and events to encourage multicultural interest and participation in the sport.

Gina diversified her PR experience while overseeing multiple accounts at top US PR firm, 5W PR. There she led a team of AE and SAE’s within the consumer lifestyle and technology divisions on accounts including, VeriSign, Def Jam Interactive, Jamster, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.

Gina boasts an attuned wealth of knowledge in digital public relations, social media and events. Prior to joining the Uniworld Group, Gina spearheaded the digital public relations campaigns for Moët Hennessy in the Northeast, Southeast and Central regions. There she executed events with talent including Jennifer Hudson, NAS and 8th generation to the Hennessy empire, Maurice Hennessy. Gina led media outreach across the nation for brand activations during the Billboard Latin Music Awards, NBA All Star Weekend, the Superbowl and Essence Festival.

Gina has a passion for music, sports and fashion. She loves to travel and has been to over 15 countries. She received a BA in English with a minor in Journalism and Women’s Studies from the University at Albany and is a NYC native and avid NY Knicks fan.
