The third annual Taste of the Rams event attracted more than 400 LA community members and raised more than $170,000 to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This event has raised almost half of $1 million to date, which is enough money for approximately 2 million meals.
Todd Gurley, who is having an MVP season for the Rams, provided his star power as the Honorary Chairman of the Event. “It is important for me, my teammates and the Rams organization to give back to our community,” said Gurley. “LA is home now and I feel good about giving back to the community that supports me.”
Don Lee Farms was the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Donald Goodman, President of Don Lee Farms, said, “Don Lee Farms is proud to be the presenting sponsor for Taste of the Rams for the second year. As a company based in Los Angeles, we care about our community and have supported the Food Bank for many years because of the tremendous impact the Food Bank has in Los Angeles County.” Other sponsors included International Paper, Mike Connolly, the Los Angeles Rams, Paramount, Sue Leonard, US Bank, Akin Gump, Stephanie Edens and more.
“The third annual Taste of the Rams event was a tremendous success,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the Food Bank, whose mission is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in Los Angeles County. “We are so grateful for the support of Todd Gurley, the Los Angeles Rams, Don Lee Farms and our other sponsors and attendees for their contributions.”

Thanks to financial and food donors, volunteers and community events like the Taste of the Rams, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is able to feed 300,000 people on a monthly basis. However, more work needs to be done to end food insecurity for the 1 in 7 people who are struggling. At some point in the month, it is estimated that 1.4 million people in our community may not know where their next meal is coming from. To help us close the hunger gap, please visit LAFoodBank.org/donate.
The fourth annual Taste of the Rams will take place in the autumn of 2019. Visit LAFoodBank.org/rams for more information, and follow @LAFoodBank on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
